{"id":3742,"date":"2015-11-04T20:40:39","date_gmt":"2015-11-04T20:40:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.accentcom.com\/stmary\/?p=3742"},"modified":"2017-02-16T17:35:38","modified_gmt":"2017-02-16T17:35:38","slug":"news-item-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.accentcom.com\/stmary\/news-item-6\/","title":{"rendered":"Providing for babies in need"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><span style=\"color: #2ea3f2;\">Fulfilling our mission in Bensalem<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>While helping m<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5145 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.accentcom.com\/stmary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/mom-and-baby_72dpi-300x164.jpg\" alt=\"mom and baby_72dpi\" width=\"300\" height=\"164\" \/>embers of our community achieve and maintain good health is a\u00a0priority for St. Mary, providing other essential services \u2013 like food and clothing \u2013 to\u00a0the underserved is also part of our mission.\u00a0 Through strategic partnerships with businesses, foundations, and other non-profit organizations, we are able to provide for many people in need at our Bensalem Ministries.<\/p>\n<p>One such organization with which we recently partnered is The Baby Bureau.\u00a0 The Baby Bureau is a non-profit, volunteer program that helps underserved moms by providing clothing for their newborns.\u00a0 Each \u201cBaby Bundle\u201d is made up of at least 30 seasonally appropriate outfits, onesies, sleepers, bibs, a hat and a new rattle.\u00a0 All of the clothing is donated and either new or gently used.\u00a0 The bundles are wrapped in donated blankets or quilts and delivered to community social service providers like St. Mary\u00a0 to distribute to families in need.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.accentcom.com\/stmary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/baby-bundle-packages_300dpi.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5146 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.accentcom.com\/stmary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/baby-bundle-packages_300dpi-300x158.jpg\" alt=\"baby bundle packages_300dpi\" width=\"300\" height=\"158\" \/><\/a>Fran Wasserman, Executive Director of The Baby Bureau, stopped by the Children\u2019s Health Center on March 31 with a special delivery. \u201cI was so honored to deliver the first of many Baby Bundles to the clinic this morning.\u00a0 Being able to personally give one to this darling one-week old little girl was truly a Mission Moment for me.\u00a0 I thank you for that!\u201d she said of her visit.\u00a0 In addition to the individually packaged bundles of clothing, the Baby Bureau also contributed gently used books to entertain older children in the Mother Bachmann and Children\u2019s Health Center waiting rooms.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you to Fran and the generous donors and volunteers at The Baby Bureau!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Baby Bundles are delivered to families of newborns in need thanks to The Baby Bureau!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":5145,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[8],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.accentcom.com\/stmary\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3742"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.accentcom.com\/stmary\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.accentcom.com\/stmary\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.accentcom.com\/stmary\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.accentcom.com\/stmary\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=3742"}],"version-history":[{"count":9,"href":"https:\/\/www.accentcom.com\/stmary\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3742\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":5889,"href":"https:\/\/www.accentcom.com\/stmary\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3742\/revisions\/5889"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.accentcom.com\/stmary\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/5145"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.accentcom.com\/stmary\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=3742"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.accentcom.com\/stmary\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=3742"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.accentcom.com\/stmary\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=3742"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
