Community Ministries

No one is turned away for care at the St. Mary Community Ministries because of an inability to pay, and our compassionate staff is sensitive to the multicultural community we serve. St. Mary reinvests in the community annually, with more than $16.5 million dollars for uncompensated medical care, social services, education programs, and financial assistance to the uninsured and underinsured in 2011. Following directives from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ document entitled Ethics and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services, it is our mission “to promote and defend human dignity, to care for the poor, to contribute to the common good, to exercise responsible stewardship and adherence to the moral teaching of the Church.” Through a collaboration of social service agencies and organizations throughout the community that concur with our mission and values, we share knowledge and resources and combine efforts that lead to physical, economic, social, and spiritual health for the entire community, and most especially to those who are most in...
Gala 2017

Gala 2017

This year the Gala raised more than $166,000 in net proceeds which will directly benefit St. Mary Community Ministries. These funds ensure that we can continue to provide new beginnings for individuals and families in need throughout Bucks County. A portion of the proceeds will be used to purchase a new van for patient transport and other essential functions and to enhance and expand Community Ministries programs. In the St. Mary service area, one in 15 households with children and one in 25 households without children live at or below the poverty line and many more live on the margins. St. Mary’s mission is to be a “compassionate and transforming healing presence in our community” with an emphasis on our core value to serve the poor and underserved in our area through our Community Ministries family of services. We would like to take this opportunity to recognize those who contributed so greatly to the event’s success – our sponsors, advertisers, guests and most importantly, special thanks to our co-chairs, Dr. Richard and Mindy Goldstein, for their leadership and dedication to the St. Mary mission and vision. This year’s...
