Thanks to donor support, our infusion patients will be getting a new space to receive their treatments with increased comfort and privacy. The area will have ten individual bays each with new infusion treatment chairs, a visitor chair and television. Privacy walls will divide the bays to ensure confidentiality for the patient and their visitors. A full view of the Healing Garden will provide the area with natural light and create a soothing therapeutic environment. Completion of this project is scheduled for early 2017. The need for additional infusion services correlates with the continued trend to care for the uninsured and the under-insured. St. Mary continues to expand its Breast Health Initiative to provide care for underserved populations in Bensalem and surrounding areas. These outreach efforts will have a positive impact on diagnosing cancers early and the renovated Infusion Room will provide a comfortable place to receive treatment. St. Mary Medical Center is moving forward while remaining committed to caring for our community. This project represents our dedication to treating the mind, body and spirit of our patients. DONATE NOW *NEW* Superhero Project Donates ANGELeye Camera After giving birth to twin boys eight weeks early, Kelly Gallagher found juggling an already busy family of four with making daily trips back and forth to the NICU a struggle. After the twins were released from the NICU, Kelly wanted to do something special for other families in this difficult situation. And thus, the Superhero Project was born. Beginning with holiday deliveries of baskets containing NICU visit essentials like hand sanitizer and tissues, as well as personalized crocheted hats for baby, the Project was overwhelmingly supported by Kelly’s family and friends’ help and donations. However, she knew there was more that could be done. Making and maintaining the vital connection between family at home and babies in the NICU can be a difficult task to manage. While doing some research for the Superhero Project, Kelly came across some interesting technology and approached the hospital to discuss what she had found – the Angel Eye Camera. This system places cameras into NICU isolettes allowing parents and families of newborns needing extended specialized care the ability to see and interact with their infant while they are away from the hospital. Kelly knew...
